Featured Author-Hazel Pacheco

Featured Author

I am happy to introduce our next featured author:

Hazel Pacheco

Hazel recently released (May 2023) her fourth children's book called "Gloria Smiled." It is the third in a series of the 3 book series, Henry and Friends series.

Somewhere in the bosque, in the open spaces near the Rio Grande, lives a covey of quail . . .

Brace for the unexpected! Fun-loving Gloria is ready to celebrate. Except her friends seem to have forgotten her special day. Undeterred, Gloria decides to throw a last-minute party for her covey. But a warning about a mysterious sorpresa in the clearing threatens to spoil her plans. If Gloria is going to save the day, she will need all the optimism and determination she can muster!

After retiring with twenty-seven years of federal service, Hazel Pacheco finally found time to write. Her first book, "That’s How It Was." The book is a tribute to the love of her life, her husband of many years. Family is important to her. She has a large extended family, two daughters, one son-in-law, and a “grandpuppy.” When she’s not spending time with family and friends, you can find her writing, reading, creating art, or exercising. Since her home is in New Mexico, you won’t find her taking long walks along the beach, but she does have plenty of sandy paths to walk in her native Land of Enchantment.

You can watch the other 2 books in the series here: "Henry Wondered" and "Federico Exaggerated" on our YourTube channel.

We recommend you add them to your family library. "Henry Wondered" and "Federico Exaggerated" All 3 in the Henry and Friends series are currently available on Kindle Unlimited, for FREE!

We want to thank Hazel for allowing us to share her books with you. We know you will enjoy these delightful stories.

I Love You Across The World
by Kim Bushman Aguilar

Kim's first book to be published was a family history book about her ancestors coming to America, "The Bushmans Come to America," and its sequel of the family's journey from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to Nauvoo, Illinois, "The Bushmans in Nauvoo." Both are very well written, with beautiful illustrations, making it fun to share family history with children.

Kim has written several children's books, "I Love You Across The World," "Use Your Words," and "Tell Everyone-Break the Silence of Child Abuse."  All three of her books have been awarded the Readers Favorite 5-Star Review Award.

We have read the first two on our YouTube channel (you can click the hyperlink to watch), "Tell Everyone" needs to be read with your child/children. Child abuse happens much more often than we would like to admit as parents and grandparents. Discussing it with your kids may, hopefully, prevent it from happening.  It is a sensitive subject, and many people are uncomfortable discussing it. Using "Tell Everyone" to open that conversation may make it easier.

A fun fact about Kim, she is a distant cousin to Grandpa. His mother's maiden name is Bushman, and the Bushman books are about Grandpa's Great, Great, Great, Grandpa.

Welcome to our blog!

Grandpa and I started our YouTube Channel on January 28, 2022. We wanted a way to read to our grandchildren, and It would be nice if other kids could watch our story times, too-so. We made it public rather than private. Our channel is for kids, so comments aren't allowed on regular videos.

On the weekends (Friday-Sunday), we post 3 books daily, including 1 book each day read in Spanish by Grandpa. Monday-Thursday, we publish one book a day. Starting tomorrow, March 27th, we will have Easter books almost every day until Easter.  Here are a few of the books you can look forward to hearing:

The Itsy Bitsy Bunny by Jeffrey Burton

We hope you will enjoy listening to story time with us.

Bunny's Easter Egg
By Anne Mortimer

Grandpa and I enjoy reading and hope you will learn to enjoy it too. It is a beautiful way to learn new things and go places you may never get outside of a book.
